“Is This Who You Want to Be?”

For my exhibition, “The Pillars of Friendship,” this painting highlights the pillar of honesty within friendship, particularly in relation to holding each other accountable. 

Often, true care and love does not call for "niceness" and avoiding having the hard conversations, but for lovingly bringing your someone's attention to an area that is harming themselves or others. It's as simple as holding up a mirror to someone, and saying, "Is this who you want to be?"Is This Who You Want to Be?”
